VanRoey breidt uit met Group K om expertise en groeipotentieel te versterken

VanRoey versterkt positie in Limburg en breidt cybersecurity aanbod uit richting publieke en hogere marktsegment

Turnhout, 19 juni 2025 - VanRoey, een gevestigde managed ICT-provider met kantoren in Turnhout, Geel, Antwerpen, Mechelen en Houthalen kondigt vandaag de strategische overname aan van Group K. De snel groeiende Limburgse IT-integrator uit Houthalen-Helchteren ondersteunt organisaties en overheden met sterke expertise in security, cloud en connectiviteit. Dankzij de integratie van Group K verstevigt VanRoey zijn geografische verankering in Limburg terwijl het zijn ICT-expertise uitbreidt met de bewezen ervaring van Group K in het bedienen van overheden en grote organisaties. Het bundelen van de krachten met Group K past naadloos binnen VanRoey’s ambitie om uit te groeien tot de meest toonaangevende managed ICT-provider in Vlaanderen.

Expertise en complementariteit: versterking in beide richtingen

Beide bedrijven delen een sterke reputatie als betrouwbare IT-partners, met een hoog niveau van kennis en expertise, die functioneren als een verlengstuk van de IT-organisaties van hun klanten. Tegelijk versterken ze enerzijds elkaars aanbod en vullen ze het anderzijds aan.

VanRoey is een gevestigde waarde als expert in managed services en security-, cloud-, applicatie- en connectiviteits-oplossingen voor zowel middelgrote als grote ondernemingen en lokale als federale overheden. Group K, opgericht in 2021 door Frank en Theo Keunen en versterkt door co-managing partner Stephan Krug, groeide in enkele jaren uit tot een erkende speler met 30 medewerkers en zo’n 200 klanten. De IT-integrator focust zich voornamelijk op het hogere marktsegment en publieke opdrachten. Klanten zoals Provincie Limburg, Group Machiels, VVSG, ArcelorMittal en Neuhaus vertrouwen op hun doorgedreven expertise.

“Cybersecurity is een topprioriteit voor onze klanten. De IT-omgevingen van vandaag worden alsmaar complexer, terwijl organisaties steeds afhankelijker worden van een betrouwbare en veilige digitale infrastructuur. We willen bedrijven maximaal ontzorgen met veilige, performante en beheerde ICT-oplossingen,” zegt Joachim Lauwers, CEO van VanRoey. “Met Group K halen we een complementaire speler aan boord om onze expertise en marktpositie in het hogere segment verder te versterken, niet in het minst op vlak van managed security. Deze overname past perfect in onze groeistrategie om verder te schalen terwijl we lokaal verankerd blijven.”

Alle 30 medewerkers van Group K blijven aan boord en de managementstructuur behouden.   

Versterkend partnership

Dankzij de integratie krijgen klanten van Group K toegang tot de brede expertise van VanRoey. Naast domeinen als security, cloud, opslag en connectiviteit kunnen ze ook beroep doen op de applicatie-oplossingen binnen het Microsoft ecosysteem en het brede pakket aan managed services -diensten van VanRoey.    

Omgekeerd brengt Group K bijkomende expertise mee op vlak van security, cloud en connectiviteit voor overheden en grote bedrijven. Zo heeft het een grootschalig raamcontract voor IT integratie met het Katholiek Onderwijs in Vlaanderen en de provincie Limburg.  Daarnaast werd Group K ook door VLAIO geselecteerd voor een project om KMO’s over heel Vlaanderen te begeleiden in het verhogen van hun cybersecurity maturiteit.

We delen dezelfde visie op IT als strategische hefboom voor onze klanten. Groeiambitie 

Met deze overname bevestigt VanRoey zijn ambitie om uit te groeien tot dé Vlaamse referentie op het vlak van managed ICT. Sinds de intrede van investeringsfonds Fortino Capital in 2022 werd er ingezet op organische groei én strategische acquisities. 

“We zetten vandaag een belangrijke nieuwe stap in het realiseren van onze groeiambities.  Samen met Group K is VanRoey nu uitgegroeid tot een bedrijf van 250 medewerkers, met een verwachte jaaromzet van meer dan 70 miljoen euro tegen eind 2025 en een sterke footprint in Antwerpen en Limburg. We verwachten in de toekomst nog bijkomende overnames aan te kondigen om onze slagkracht als partner voor complexe IT omgevingen in heel Vlaanderen verder te versterken”, besluit Joachim Lauwers.

The fast-growing Limburg-based IT integrator from Houthalen-Helchteren supports organizations and governments with strong expertise in security, cloud, and connectivity. Thanks to the integration of Group K, VanRoey is strengthening its geographical foothold in Limburg while expanding its ICT expertise with Group K's proven experience in serving governments and large organizations. Joining forces with Group K fits seamlessly with VanRoey's ambition to become the leading managed ICT provider in Flanders.

Expertise and complementarity: strengthening in both directions

Both companies share a strong reputation as reliable IT partners, with a high level of knowledge and expertise, functioning as an extension of their customers' IT organizations. At the same time, they strengthen each other's offerings on the one hand and complement them on the other.

VanRoey is an established expert in managed services and security, cloud, application, and connectivity solutions for both medium-sized and large enterprises and local and federal governments. Group K, founded in 2021 by Frank and Theo Keunen and strengthened by co-managing partner Stephan Krug, has grown in just a few years into a recognized player with 30 employees and around 200 customers. The IT integrator focuses primarily on the higher market segment and public contracts. Clients such as the Province of Limburg, Group Machiels, VVSG, ArcelorMittal, and Neuhaus rely on their extensive expertise.

All 30 Group K employees will remain on board and the management structure will be retained. 

Strengthening partnership

Thanks to the integration, Group K customers will have access to VanRoey's broad expertise. In addition to areas such as security, cloud, storage, and connectivity, they will also be able to call on the application solutions within the Microsoft ecosystem and VanRoey's broad range of managed services.    

Conversely, Group K brings additional expertise in the areas of security, cloud, and connectivity for governments and large companies. For example, it has a large-scale framework contract for IT integration with Catholic Education in Flanders and the province of Limburg.  In addition, Group K was also selected by VLAIO for a project to assist SMEs throughout Flanders in increasing their cybersecurity maturity.

Growth ambition

With this acquisition, VanRoey confirms its ambition to become the Flemish reference in the field of managed ICT. Since the entry of investment fund Fortino Capital in 2022, the focus has been on organic growth and strategic acquisitions.
